Biography

Mark is a Freelance VFX Supervisor and Flame Artist. He brings over twenty years experience to every project.
Experience that includes Commercials, Feature Films, Short Films, Promos and Graphics.

He is very organised, helping all his jobs to run just that bit more smoothly. He has an excellent eye for detail and an intrinsic understanding of Clients vision and requirements. After years of working face to face with Clients in the suite, when the creative collaboration is at it’s most fluid and efficient, Mark has the experience and intuition to work well remotely.

He takes responsibility for jobs from start to finish. Collaborating with Directors and Agencies, from initial creative discussions through pre-production, production, shoot supervision and post production. He manages teams of Comp, 3D, Prep and Roto artists. Seeing jobs through to final approval, versioning, QC and Mastering.

Mark is based in London. He also has international experience having worked in Los Angeles and Amsterdam and as Shoot Supervisor in; Cape Town, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, Slovenia, Prague and Warsaw.

He’s had the great pleasure to work with incredible Directors and wonderful Agencies. Forming close and lasting working relationships and friendships with many Clients.

Highlights:

Degree in Graphic Design at St Martin’s and Central Schools of Art. Collaborating with renowned photographer and director Nick Knight to produce ‘Plant Power’, a long running and visually stunning exhibition at the Natural History Museum, exploring the cultural connections between plants and humans. Working in Los Angeles and being responsible for creative output and development of film posters for major Hollywood studios. As compositor for feature films, including: Nine time Oscar winner The English Patient for Anthony Minghella, James Bond Golden Eye, Muppet Treasure Island, Richard III, The Borrowers and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Compositing with art directors Ian Cross and Stuart Hilton to create the iconic and award winning title sequence for Guy Richie’s film Snatch. As Lead compositor for Brett Foraker’s Channel 4 idents that won a D&AD Black pencil for Brand Identity and a Yellow pencil for Special Effects.
